fourscoreandsevenyearsagoourfathersbroughtforthonthiscontinentanewnation，conceivedinlibertyanddedicatedtothepropositionthatallmenarecreatedequal.nowweareengagedinagreatcivilwar，testingwhetherthatnationoranynationsoconceivedandsodedicatedcanlongendure.wearemetonagreatbattlefieldofthatwar.wehavecometodedicateaportionofthatfieldasafinalresting-placeforthosewhoheregavetheirlivesthatthenationmightlive.itisaltogetherfittingandproperthatweshoulddothis.but，inalargersense，wecannotdedicate，wecannotconsecrate，wecannothallowthisground.thebravemen，livinganddeadwhostruggledherehaveconsecrateditfaraboveourpoorpowertoaddordetract.

theworldwilllittlenotenorlongrememberwhatwesayhere，butitcanneverforgetwhattheydidhere.itisforusthelivingrathertobededicatedheretotheunfinishedworkwhichtheywhofoughtherehavethusfarsonoblyadvanced.

itisratherforustobeherededicatedtothegreattaskremainingbeforeus--thatfromthesehonoreddeadwetakeincreaseddevotiontothatcauseforwhichtheygavethelastfullmeasureofdevotion--thatweherehighlyresolvethatthesedeadshallnothavediedinvain，thatthisnationundergodshallhaveanewbirthoffreedom，andthatgovernmentofthepeople，bythepeople，forthepeopleshallnotperishfromtheearth.
